2015 Belmont Stakes Full Results & Payouts

The Triple Crown club has a new member. It only took 37 years for a horse to join it, but American Pharoah punched his ticket last night with a dominating win in the 2015 Belmont Stakes. Payouts on the colt’s history making trip returned $3.50 for a Win, $2.80 for a Place and $2.50 for Show.

Full results from yesterday’s Triple Crown finale saw Frosted, a second pick to American Pharoah heading into the race, finished 5.5 lengths back to place. The third favorite, Todd Pletcher’s Materiality, went on to finish last in the 1 1/2-miles race.

Taking third was seventh place Kentucky Derby finisher Keen Ice, a 16 to 1 Belmont long shot according to yesterday’s morning line. The colt’s somewhat surprising performance returned $4.60 for those who wagered on it to show.

Everything, though, took a backseat to American Pharoah yesterday and rightfully so. The Pioneerof the Nile product ran the race in 2:26.65, the fastest Belmont time since another Bob Baffert colt, Point Given, completed the “Test of the Champion” in 2:26 2/5 back in 2001.

And while American Pharoah’s number is a far cry from Secretariat’s race record of 2:24, it still put him in some very special company while ending a Triple Crown drought that many felt could continue for some time.

“What the Triple Crown is about, we just get to share greatness with everybody,” Baffert said. “Everybody got to see it.”
